KAILASA is Represented at the Sixth Session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-6)
UNON, Nairobi, Kenya, February 27, 2024 – Today, the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6) took place at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. As the world’s top decision-making body on the environment, UNEA aims to help restore harmony between humanity and nature, improving the lives of the world’s most vulnerable people.
The direct disciples of THE SPH BHAGVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM and alumni of KAILASA’s Nithyananda Gurukul from the Sovereign Order of KAILASA’s Nithyananda represented The United States of KAILASA, the First Nation for Hindus, alongside global leaders, statesmen, and visionaries. KAILASA presented its perspective on tackling the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, ecosystems and biodiversity, pollution and waste.
The United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6) officially features KAILASA on its website for establishing the successful working model spearheaded by THE SPH.
Backed by strong science, political resolve, and engagement with society, the Assembly is an opportunity for world governments, civil society groups, the scientific community, and the private sector to shape global environmental policy, focusing on how multilateralism can help tackle this triple planetary crisis.
Across KAILASA’s ecosystems around the world, THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM (SPH), BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM, has implemented sustainable development measures and policies that promote growth while guaranteeing the welfare of the planet.
As highlighted by the assembly, multilateralism, and partnership are essential to implementing sustainable development solutions. In this angle, THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM has established a worldwide movement across over a hundred countries, working towards a healthy planet. THE SPH has launched multiple green initiatives such as Go Zero Waste, Say No to Plastic, the Clean Air Initiative, re-using food in agriculture, Go Vegetarian, the global Ishanya Project, promoting care over cure, and the Healthy Planet initiative to restore the Earth’s glory through concrete action, in alignment with the UNEA and UN SDGs main focus points.
Hinduism advocates revering the Earth as a mother Goddess. Through this holistic approach, Hindus have been able to mitigate disasters and maintain a harmonious and sustainable relationship with the Earth.
Facilitated in a dynamic and interactive format, the UN-SPBF of the UNEA-6’s impactful program features ministers, star speakers, and visionaries from the business sector, governments, scientific institutions, and civil society. Its Special Sessions concentrate on solution-driven thought leadership that aligns with UNEA’s theme – “effective, inclusive and sustainable multilateral actions to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution” – and the Executive Director’s report.
The outcomes of the special session will inform ministerial consultations and the UN Environment Assembly.
