The United States of KAILASA Establishes Diplomatic Relations with the Movimiento Independiente Indígena Lenca de Honduras

On November 17, 2024, the United States of KAILASA officially entered into a bilateral agreement with the Lenca Indigenous Community represented by the Movimiento Independiente Indígena Lenca de Honduras (MUPILH) to foster diplomatic relations and mutual cooperation.

This landmark partnership signifies a commitment to empowering indigenous communities and preserving cultural heritage, thereby contributing to global solidarity, social equity, and cultural preservation. With a rich cultural legacy and a population of over 116,000 across 2,000 villages, the Lenca people are celebrated for their resilience, traditional weaving, pottery, and staunch defense of their ancestral lands. They predominantly inhabit the mountainous regions of La Paz, Lempira, Ocotepeque, and Intibucá in Honduras.

MUPILH represents the largest indigenous community in Honduras, encompassing 90% of the Lenca population through 30 national and local organizations.This diplomatic accord symbolizes a shared commitment to preserving indigenous cultural identity, promoting environmental sustainability, and strengthening the education and well-being of indigenous communities. It paves the way for a collaborative future rooted in mutual respect, global solidarity, and impactful, lasting change for generations to come.
