A Proclamation

Today, September 20, 2021, our Nation KAILASA mourns the loss of the most dedicated defender, protector and one of the most powerful voices of Sanatana Hindu Dharma. Mahant Sri Narendra Giri Maharaj, the Adhyaksha (President) of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (All India Council of Akhadas), the oldest and largest apex body of Hinduism. Mahant Sri Shri Narendra Giri Maharaj also headed the “Baghambari Gaddi” which is one of the oldest Gaddi (Ashrams) in Allahabad and the Hanuman Temple in Prayaraj.

Fourteen Akadhas are a part of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) These Akhāḍās affiliated to ABAP consisting of 1 million+ dedicated Sādhus (saints), function as their sister organizations or subsidiaries, carrying the ideological connection yet having their independent identity. Historically the Akhadas were founded by Paramashiva Himself, later in 748 C.E, Adi Shankara formally organised and unified the Hindu theologies, ideologies and principles that exist within Sanātana Hindu Dharma into democratic structures giving stability and legitimacy to Hinduism’s core spiritual traditions (sampradāya) in the form of the Akhāḍās or Apex bodies of Hinduism.

Mahant Sri Narendra Giri Maharaj was one of the most dedicated religious leaders forever remembered for his tireless work towards the vision of true unification and revival of Hinduism in all its glory. He was an influential and inspirational figure, epitomizing powerful yet respectful arguments to defend Hindu Gurus and Hinduism. His voice is taken as the voice of Hinduism by international media, government, legal authorities, judiciary and politicians. He had that personality to stand, understand and defend the whole Hinduism. On numerous occasions, I have referred Mahant Sri Narendra Giriji Maharaj to several Hindu activists to get the right opinion about Hinduism.

Since 2007, I have personally known and shared a long beautiful relationship with Mahant Sri Narendra Giriji Maharaj. He has always expressed his support for the continuum of the untiring services in various religious, spiritual and humanitarian efforts of KAILASA in advancing faith, peace and harmony through several initiatives including organising Kumbh Mela (the oldest and largest spiritual congregation) worldwide. KAILASA is the only Nation authorized by Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad to conduct Kumbh Mela outside the borders of India. Mahant Sri Narendra Giriji Maharaj has further officiated numerous international religious conclaves, treaties and summits hosted by KAILASA.
I personally, and on behalf of the KAILASA Nation, offer my humble respects and praṇāms to the greatest defender and protector of Sanatana Hindu Dharma – Mahant Sri Narendra Giriji Maharaj. We are indeed saddened at the huge irrecoverable loss to Hinduism as it has lost one of its greatest doyens who envisioned the true unification and revival of Hinduism in all its glory. The legacy and contribution of the Hon. Sri 108 Mahant Swami Narendra Giriji to Hinduism will never be forgotten and will forever be recorded in the history of our Nation – KAILASA.

In his personal statement, Hon. President, Sri 108 Mahant Swami Narendra Giriji, who leads 14 Apex Bodies of Hinduism (Akhāḍās) with 1.2M monks, declared,
“One week ago several news media channels had come to me, asking me to comment about Nithyananda Swamiji and I said – He is the backbone of Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism). All the people who are connected to Swamiji H.H. Paramahamsa Nithyananda are very much fortunate. Today, I consider myself also fortunate as I am connected to Swamiji. In the topic of this great ascetic saint, it is my belief that on the strength of tapas (penance) and dhyana (meditation), man becomes transformed into Divine. Today on coming to his Aadheenam, in front of you, seeing the austerity, penance and strength of honourable Nithyananda Swamiji, I felt that, in reality, I have come into the presence of a Divya Purusha (Divine Being).”
